Does the GDPR think my organisation monitors the behavior of EU residents?

Your company would be considered to be ‘Monitoring’ if it’s activities involve the tracking of individuals online to create profiles, including where this is used to analyse or predict personal preferences, behaviours and attitudes. This would apply to most social media sites and many apps, as well as any predictive analysis of behaviours used for marketing purposes.

For example, an organisation selling wearable technology or incorporating artificial intelligence or machine learning must comply with the GDPR.
